1. being back in our house after being gone for almost a month.
2. feeling my baby kick. Most of the time
3. that there are no longer Christmas cookies in my immediate vicinity.
4. coffee. What is possibly better than coffee when its so super cold out? Yummm… I’m going to go get another cup right now
5. Peppermint Mocha Coffeemate. My holiday indulgence. Along with cookies.
6. getting organized for the new year. I have a serious addiction to plastic storage boxes…
7. helping my daughter as she learns to read. And seeing her look of triumph when she succeeds.
8. when my kids ‘kiss the baby.’
9. listening to my kids sing along to music. Their new favorite song, I am proud to say, is Across the Universe, by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Glad they are getting a well-rounded education.
10. having long conversations - in person - with my husband. (This has been rare this past month

* spring. its coming! finally!
* when the laundry is all done, ironed, folded and put away. (this rarely happens…)
* when my kids ask, “can we go to disney someday? pleeeeze, mommy and daddy?” and they have no clue that they are going next week. they’re. going. to. DIE!
* finding a pair of jeans on the clearance rack that not only fit, but make my butt look spectacular, if i do say so myself.
* flip flops. because it is finally SPRING!

*when my kids pick me over anyone else. (Except from midnight-6am. Then its no longer sweet. Or appreciated.)
*designing and making something from scratch, having it work and totally loving it.
*when my husband comes home from work on Friday, sitting down for dinner and knowing we have the weekend together.
*when the ironing is done. (its not.)
*getting out of the house and having a few hours to myself to do something fun. And splurging on my favorite Starbucks treat while I’m at it. I am so doing this today.
*when my friend asks me to be her date to a fancy party here when her husband is out of town. Fun!

* little sister, when i catch her doing something she’s not supposed to. (”Maybe if I stay really still, she won’t see me on top of the piano….”)
* when little sister calls me “Darlin’” (pronounced “Da-rin”)
* when you check your bank account and find that you have more money in it then you thought you did.
* when the girls want to make dinner special for their daddy, insisting that we light candles and use a tablecloth. then they set the table all by themselves (some people have two spoons, someone else has only a napkin, flatware and no plate…) and they yell “surprise! we made you a special dinner!” when daddy walks in the door. ironically, they usually want to do this on a night when we’re having something like pancakes and dinner is not really special at all.
* when my kids say, “you washed my clothes? oh, thank you, mama! thank you so much!” (they really say this when they see me folding laundry. honestly.)
* finishing something i made myself, especially when it is a gift for a friend.
(can you tell i’ve been at home with the kiddies all week?)
