Heather over at The Tully Telegraph has posted pictures of the custom crib set I made for her. It looks so cute in her cradle, if I do say so myself ;-) I loved her color choices - if I was having a girl I probably would have copied it for my baby!

The look on Gracie’s face when we heard the baby’s heartbeat for the first time…
This girl is going to be the sweetest big sister! I can’t wait to see her meet this baby!

Ellie has gotten three playdate requests this week. Apparently girlfriend is now Miss Popularity in her class. Moms call saying, “Jane just keeps talking about Ellie and is dying to have a playdate with her!” I’m wondering if this is a good thing. Are they talking about her because she is fun and a good friend? Or because she’s such an oddball? Time will tell, I guess!
Grace got invited to her first friend birthday party - a girl in her class. The professionally printed invitations are about as nice as your average wedding invitation. (Well, if the wedding invitation had princesses, castles and magic wands all over them.) I’m a little intimidated by this. Should she be dressed up? Cause it looks like a pretty fancy party to me. But, maybe this is normal for this neighborhood and I just don’t know it? Am I supposed to go with her? What am I supposed to wear? Am I over-thinking this?
Jeez, I’ve never done anything nicer than an e-vite. When we bother to have an actual party for our kids, that is.

Went to Cheesecake Factory for a Mom’s Night Out last night. So yummy. I had the “Factory Burrito Grande,” which translates to “Monsterishly Humongous Burrito.” Three of us shared it and I don’t think anyone was able to actually finish our third. Seriously. (Well, we had to save room for cheesecake, so figure that into the equation.) Have I mentioned how thankful I am that I can eat food again?? And not feel guilty about calories?
And can I just add that we all thought it was obnoxious that Cheesecake Factory has the nerve to charge $2.95 for a cup of coffee.

Yesterday and today I went with my mom and some of my aunts to the Quilt Extravaganza in Harrisburg, PA. Not a “Quilt Show” or “A Quilt Expo” — a Quilt Extravagnza. That made me giggle every time I passed a sign. (Some people are really serious about their quilting, folks, and its a bad idea to make fun of them when they can hear you.) Also taking place in the same building was the Gun Expo, so you can imagine how many men were looking at quilts. Approximately 6.
I was definitely on the young side of the average age, which led to a few awkward attempts at flirtation by nerdy male vendors which make me torn between wanting to run away and hide behind my mom and laughing in their face while telling them I’m actually not only married but pregnant. (What a catch I am!)
I was for some strange, odd reason drawn inexplicably to everything baby. Hum. I got things to make two girly quilts and two boy quilts. I’ll post pics tomorrow, because they are awfully cute. One of the girl quilts will be using ric-rac. Hee hee.
I also splurged on little ol’ me and bought a bag pattern and fabric. Now this is strange because 1) I never make things for myself. 2) I never follow directions. Therefore patterns are usually a waste of time for me. But I am determined to challenge myself by doing what I daily challenge my kids to do: follow directions.
‘Cause I think this is really cute. Especially the bow. I’m sure I could improve it, but I’m really going to try to control myself. I’ll let you know how it turns out!

This week, in honor of refusing the end of summer, I’m giving away this adorable, very bright and cheery Citrus Dots gift set from Eliza Grace Design, which is a little online boutique I’ve begun with gifts for modern babies and mommies. Every piece is handmade and features fun, modern cotton prints - a nice break from the traditional pink and blue baby gifts!
Eliza Grace burp cloths feature coordinating modern cotton prints and are backed with absorbent terry cloth. Burp cloths and bibs both have a layer of cotton batting to make sure they can absorb anything a baby can dish out. Bibs are backed with super-soft minky to be extra comfy.
If you would like to win, please leave a single comment. A valid email address is required, but you do NOT have to have a blog to play. I’m sorry, but I can only mail to addresses in the U.S. and Canada.
Good luck! Comments will close Friday at noon and I will randomly draw a name from my comments on Friday afternoon, August 24!
